Toshiba Wins Order to Supply 100kW Pure Hydrogen Fuel Cell System Fueled with Hydrogen Produced by Recycling Plastic

Toshiba Corporation has won an order to supply a pure hydrogen fuel cell to Showa Denko K.K., a Tokyo-based chemical company. Hydrogen to fuel the system will be extracted from recycled used plastics by Showa Denko, and the fuel cell will help to meet the energy needs of a new Tokyu REI hotel under construction in Kawasaki, Kanagawa prefecture.

Scheduled to start operation in April 2017, the center will be built around a newly designed H2One™ hydrogen power system that will use renewable energy to produce hydrogen and supply it to fuel-cell powered forklifts operating in Fuchu Complex.
