Toshiba Corporation has completed the world's first commercial-use carbon capture and utilization (CCU) system constructed in a municipal waste incineration plant, in Saga Japan. The CCU system will start operation from August 26 and will capture 10-tons of carbon dioxide a day from the flue gas of the incinerator.

Marubeni Corporation and Toshiba Corporation today announced that Bangkok’s new Purple Line officially began commercial operation on August 6. A joint venture formed by Marubeni and Toshiba was awarded a contract in 2013 to supply railway systems and maintenance services for the line.

Toshiba Corporation has been awarded a contract by Thailand’s Gunkul Engineering Public Co. Ltd. to construct a mega-solar power plant in Kimitsu, Chiba prefecture, Japan. The plant, scheduled to commence operation by March 2019, will have a power generation capacity of roughly 33.5-megawatts. The contract has a total value of 9 billion yen.
